Farmers in Vinh Chau town, Soc Trang province, Vietnam, are experiencing a bountiful harvest of purple onions, with prices doubling and yield increasing by 30% compared to the previous year. The average yield this season is 18-20 tons per hectare, and there is no surplus as in previous years due to the promotion of scattered planting and linked product consumption. The cost of plant protection drugs has also decreased due to a lack of significant pest issues. This has resulted in a profitable crop for farmers, with over 100 million VND in profits per hectare.
