The USDA forecasts a 2.1% increase in per capita beef consumption, with a 10.7% rise in beef imports but a 1.7% drop in international beef sales in the last quarter of 2024. Producer prices of beef bulls and slaughter cows are projected to rise by 9.8% and 22.1%, respectively. However, U.S. beef output remains stable, and veal production has decreased by 14%. Hungary has experienced a 1.4% increase in live cattle exports but a 3.9% decrease in their value, primarily to Kosovo, Croatia, Austria, Albania, Poland, and Italy. Live cattle imports to Hungary have surged by 11%, and their value has increased by 8.8%. Despite this, beef exports and imports have seen a decline in the first nine months of 2024.
