Soil moisture in Brazil and Argentina is assessed as satisfactory, which creates good conditions for spring sowing. The sowing campaign for wheat and barley in June-July was generally successful. In the west (Cordoba, San Luis, La Pampa, western Santa Fe) there was drought, but late August rains significantly improved soil conditions. The main sowing regions – Buenos Aires, eastern Cordoba and Santa Fe – have received sufficient rainfall and are now ready for active crop growth in early spring. Sunflower sowing has already begun, and corn will be sown in the coming weeks. The seasonal drought typical for early September persisted in the central-west and central-south regions.
