South Australian wine exports to China have seen a significant increase, with $558 million worth of wine exported in the 12 months to October, following the removal of import tariffs in April. This represents over 99 percent of total sales in the seven months post-tariff removal. The state's wine exports exceeded $1.7 billion for the year to October, marking a 38 percent increase from the previous year. China is now the state's second-largest wine export market, valued at $237 million, showing more than 30 percent growth. The South Australian Government has supported the return of Chinese wine buyers to meet with wineries, facilitating the strengthening of relationships and promoting premium wines to Chinese consumers.
