As of March 9, 2023, Brazil's soybean harvest for the 2022/23 season has advanced to 53% of the cultivated area, marking a significant increase from 43% a week earlier but still behind the 64% achieved in the same period last year. However, favorable weather conditions have aided progress, despite crop failures reported in Rio Grande do Sul with yields up to 60% lower than expected. In addition, the planting of the 2023 corn crop in the Center-South of Brazil is nearly complete at 81%, with Mato Grosso seeing full completion and other states showing good progress, albeit with delays in some areas like Mato Grosso do Sul. The summer corn harvest for the 2022/23 season has also progressed to 45% of the cultivated area, slightly surpassing last week's 36% but falling short of the 52% achieved a year ago.
