Brazil: Soybean planting for the 2024/25 harvest advances to 2.4%, says Conab

Soybean planting for the 2024/25 harvest in Brazil reached 2.4% of the total area as of Sunday, the 29th, according to data from the National Supply Company (Conab). The rate represents an increase in relation to the 0.2% of the previous week, but is still below the 4.1% recorded in the same period in 2023. In Mato Grosso, soybean planting reached 2.6%, while in Paraná it reached 10%. In the case of first-crop corn, planting advanced to 21.6% of the expected area, an increase of 5.4 percentage points compared to the 16.2% of the previous week, but still below the 22.6% of 2023. Paraná leads the sowing, with 60%, followed by Rio Grande do Sul, which registered 62%. Santa Catarina also showed growth, going from 22% in the previous week to 46%.
