Spain exports much more wine to Latin America, the same to Africa and less to Asia

The Spanish Wine Market Observatory has prepared a thorough report in which it reviews the evolution of sales in Latin America, Asia and Africa Thus, sales of Spanish wine in Latin America grew by 27% in volume and 36.4% in value in the first half of 2022. As regards Asia, sales in Japan and other minority markets have offset the sharp drop in exports to China, while pre-pandemic sales levels have already been reached in Africa LATIN AMERICA After recovering in 2021 what was lost in 2020 due to the pandemic, Spanish wine exports to this region grew at an exceptional rate in the first half of 2022, despite being a period of great uncertainty and high inflation. Sales reached 31.5 million liters and 96.4 million euros, 3.1% of the volume and 6.7% of the total value exported by Spain, at an average price that rose by 7.3% up to €3.06/litre.
