The Spanish pork sector organizations, ASICI and INTERPORC, have partnered for the second year in a row to promote Spanish ham in the United States through the 'Slices of Happiness' campaign. The campaign was showcased at the Americas Food & Beverage fair in Miami, with a focus on the sensory tasting of Ham and a cutting workshop for distribution operators, restaurants, and catering companies. In 2023, Spain exported over 34 million euros worth of ham and shoulders to the U.S., accounting for 25% of its total ham production and 10% of its international ham trade value of 743 million euros. The campaign aims to highlight the nutritional value, unique flavor, and versatility of Spanish ham, targeting importers, distributors, and restaurants to choose Spanish ham over others. This initiative is supported by ICEX Spain Export and Investments and the Restaurants From Spain projects.
