Starting in July, Mississippi will implement new labeling regulations for seafood sales

The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources urges seafood sellers in the state to prepare for a new law (House Bill 602), including reviewing procurement documents, updating signage and menus, and training employees. According to the new law, all wholesalers, processors, retailers, and food service establishments must label seafood and crawfish as one of the following two categories: "Domestic": Caught, farmed, and processed in the United States; "Imported": Caught, farmed, and/or processed outside the United States.
