In 2021, Egypt's wheat imports value and quantity decreased by 16.2% and 48.4% respectively compared to the previous year, reaching $2.4 billion and 6.1 million tons respectively. Russia was the top supplier of wheat to Egypt, accounting for 69.4% of the total imports. Other significant suppliers included Ukraine, Romania, and Australia. The quantity of imports from Russia also decreased by 42.6% compared to the previous year.
