Morocco is emerging as a leading producer of strawberries, ranking among the top ten globally with an annual production of 166,955 tonnes, according to World Population Review. The global demand for strawberries is on the rise, with China leading as the first producer, followed by the United States and Egypt. Other significant producers include Turkey, Spain, Brazil, Russia, Poland, and Brazil. The delicate nature of strawberries requires careful harvesting and immediate refrigeration, posing challenges in transportation. However, Morocco continues to excel in strawberry production, contributing to the supply of these nutritious fruits to the global market despite weather risks and supply-demand fluctuations.
