Specialists at the Alexandrovsky sturgeon hatchery of Glavrybvod are conducting appraisals and controls over the mass, physiological state, and therapeutic needs of fish in preparation for the 2023 spawning season. The hatchery has completed registrations for Russian and Beluga sturgeon breeders and reports that mature females have successfully overwintered, indicating readiness for spawning, as confirmed by egg sample analyses. The accounting of fish is overseen by a commission representing Glavrybvod, the Volga-Caspian Territorial Administration of the Federal Agency for Fishery, and the Federal State Scientific Institution VNIRO.
