Netherlands: Sugar factories in full swing, sugar content rising

The first two weeks of the campaign are now behind us. The processing capacity is on average over 28,000 tonnes per day per factory. Sugar content increases The beets are now being supplied from all areas. The sugar content increases in week two to a national average of 15.8 percent, varying from less than 15 percent in the southeast of the Netherlands to 16.6 percent on the Groningen clay. On the light soils, the supply has only just started in many areas. Plots with little growth potential are now often delivered.
