In January 2023, the Port of Santos saw a 37.2% increase in sugar exports and a 43.2% increase in corn exports, contributing to a 0.9% increase in solid bulk movement. Despite this, overall cargo movement decreased by 4.7% due to a 51% reduction in shipments to the soy complex and a 17.8% reduction in fertilizer shipments. The port handled 10.1 million tons of cargo, with China being the most common partner country and São Paulo making up 57.4% of commercial transactions.
