In January 2023, Russia experienced a significant surge in white sugar production, with a 2.4 times increase compared to the same period in 2022, totaling 370.3 thousand tons. Despite this, sugar production for chocolate and confectionery products saw a decrease of 21.7% compared to December 2022, amounting to 145.3 thousand tons. The country also saw an 8.9% increase in unrefined sunflower oil production compared to January 2022, producing 538.15 thousand tons. However, the production of refined sunflower oil experienced a decrease of 26.3% in January 2023 compared to the previous month.
