In April 2021, Brazil's sugar and molasses exports increased by 25.67% compared to the same month in 2020, reaching 1.904 million tons. However, there was a decrease of 3.62% compared to March 2021. The total export revenue for the month was US $ 615.589 million, a 38.52% increase from April 2020. The annual increase in volume and revenue is attributed to higher production in Brazil and reduced production in Thailand and ethanol demand decrease due to COVID-19. The monthly decrease is due to the delay in the 2021/22 harvest in the Center-South of Brazil. From January to April 2021, Brazil exported 7.701 million tons, generating $ 2.455 billion in revenue, marking a 32.21% and 42.57% increase compared to the same period in 2020.
