The 2023/24 sugarcane harvest in Brazil's Center-South region is expected to reach 590 million tons, a 7% increase from the previous year, according to Datagro consultancy. This would result in a 7.7% increase in total supply of ATR. Mills are expected to focus on maximizing sugar production due to uncertainties in the oil market and potential changes in federal taxes on fuels. The sugar mix is predicted to rise from 45.6% to 47.9%, with sugar production projected to increase by 13% to 38 million tons, while ethanol production is expected to rise by 6% to 31.07 billion liters.
