A new cabbage variety called "Taichung No. 3" has been developed by the Taichung District Agricultural Improvement Station in Taiwan, boasting superior heat resistance and resistance to yellow leaf disease. This variety is designed for summer cultivation in flat areas, offering a more efficient alternative to traditional soft cabbage varieties commonly used under high temperatures. With a yield exceeding 600 grams and good storage and transportation characteristics, "Taichung No. 3" is expected to replace a portion of the imported cabbage used for processing and provide farmers with a new planting option. The variety's hardness also makes it well-suited for export markets, potentially balancing production and sales.
