Switzerland exported more cheese

This increase is observed in all product categories, with the exception of processed cheese, the German-speaking agricultural information service (LID) said on Friday. As a percentage, soft cheeses saw the strongest increase, with 29% (+59.6 tonnes). In terms of volume, it was semi-hard cheeses that saw the most significant increase (+1316 tonnes). For hard cheeses - the most exported category - exports remained more or less at the same level of the previous year (+ 1.2%). The most exported Swiss cheese is undoubtedly Gruyère AOP: during the first half of 2021, its exports increased by 8.1%, or 478.4 tonnes, to reach a total of 6,377.6 tonnes.
