Swiss Granum's forecasts for 2024 reveal a general decline in the cultivation areas for key agricultural products in Switzerland, including bread grains, feed grains, and certain oilseeds. Notably, there will be reductions in the cultivation of bread wheat, spelled, rye, and organic bread grains, alongside a decrease in feed grain areas such as feed wheat, barley, triticale, and oats, with organic feed wheat seeing a significant drop. However, there might be a slight increase in organic triticale and sunflower cultivation areas. Conversely, rapeseed and soybean areas are expected to shrink. Despite these decreases, there is an anticipated slight improvement in the quality and volume of organic feed grains. Overall, the 2024 harvest volumes for these crops are expected to fall below those of 2023.
