Peru: Tacna will execute the South American Camelid Project with S/12 million

The head of the Regional Directorate of Agriculture of Tacna, Dennis Gutiérrez Maquera, announced the development of the South American Camelid Project with an investment of S/12 million, intended to benefit producers in the four provinces of the region. The presentation was made within the framework of National Alpaca Day. During the event, outstanding alpaca community members and artisans of the last year were recognized and awarded. They are: Quispe Marino from Ancomarca (province of Tacna), Mario Gilberto from Tarata, Elva Catallica from Santa Cruz (province of Jorge Basadre), and Lidia Escobar from Huaytire (province of Candarave). In textile crafts with alpaca wool, Isabel Torres Vásquez from Alto Perú and Juana Gutiérrez Zegarra from Candarave were distinguished.
