Tajikistan saw a 4.6% increase in honey production in the first five months of 2020, with a total of 23 tons produced, all of which was sourced from the Khatlon region. The country currently exports most of its honey to Russia, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, and the UAE. Meanwhile, Canadian company 'Hantana Canada Inc' plans to establish an environmentally friendly honey production in the Sughd Free Economic Zone in Tajikistan, with the goal to export to larger markets including the USA, Canada, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and the European Union.
