Taro beneng (Xanthosoma undipes), also known as koneng-koneng, is a promising agricultural commodity in Indonesia. The plant's tubers and leaves have economic value, with the dried leaves having particular demand for herbal cigarettes, falling short of global demand by 84 tons. The tubers are sought after by Japan and China for use in the food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries, contributing to the commodity's high economic value. The potential benefits have expanded the cultivation area and recognize the crop from being a symbol of poverty to a valuable commodity. Other commodities like sorghum, tisane, dendrobium, and satoimo are also highlighted for their potential in the market.
