Turkey's agriculture, food and beverage sector experienced an 11.63% increase in exports in January 2024, reaching $2.17 billion, while imports fell by 16.77% to $1.6 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of $830 million. The most exported products were flour, hazelnuts, and tangerines, with the sugar and confectionery sector leading in total exports. Conversely, the highest imports were in the animal feed sector, with wheat, soybeans, and cattle being the most imported items. Notably, wheat imports fell by 46.3%, while cattle imports rose by 65%.
