Thai Nguyen province in Vietnam has seen a surge in cinnamon tree cultivation, with the plant chosen for its ease of care and high income potential. The province has backed the initiative with policies and projects, including free seedlings and fertilizer for those growing cinnamon in protective forests. The head of Dinh Hoa district's Agriculture Department, Mr. Nong Dinh Tinh, stated that the district has planted over 4,000 hectares of cinnamon trees annually. Cinnamon cultivation has emerged as a key crop, providing high economic value, creating jobs, and enhancing livelihoods. It also aids in soil and forest preservation. The province plans to further develop the cinnamon industry by expanding raw material areas, establishing a deep processing industry, ensuring organic safety, and stabilizing product output.
