The 2024-2025 olive oil campaign has closed with its highest stock level in the last three years, 290,218 tons, according to data released this Monday by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA). The latest update on the olive oil market situation, with data as of last September 30, shows that the oil mills have recorded accumulated stocks of 138,077.8 tons, which are joined by the 115,661.1 tons of bulk and the 33,535.49 tons of packaged oil in the industry, and the 2,943.2 tons of olive oil declared by the Olive Growers' Common Heritage Foundation. In total, the 290,218 tons of stocks linking to the next campaign are higher than the 186,900 tons of the 2023-2024 campaign and the 248,200 tons of 2022-2023, seasons that were marked by a severe drought, far from the average of more than 400,000 tons of previous years.
