The National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service Jeonnam Office (Director Lee Nam-yoon) conducted a nationwide inspection on the origin labeling from late October to early December due to the increase in the distribution of kimchi and seasonings for kimchi during the kimchi-making season. The inspection, carried out by special judicial police officers and honorary monitors, targeted general restaurants, kimchi manufacturing and sales companies, and agricultural product processing companies, focusing on acts such as falsely labeling foreign agricultural products as domestic or misleading consumers by falsely claiming they are from famous domestic regions. Major cases detected by the Jeonnam Office include: ▲ a restaurant falsely labeling Chinese cabbage kimchi as domestic cabbage kimchi ▲ Gangwon-do produce.
