Mexico's agricultural sector saw a 2.9% production increase in 2021, reaching 200 million 186 thousand tons, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. This growth was led by a 1.2% increase in grains and oilseeds, with significant rises in the production of wheat, beans, oats, and soybeans. The surge in these crops was attributed to strategic decisions by producers to convert areas to drought-resistant short-cycle crops and favorable market prices for oilseeds.
