Recent data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) reveals a mixed performance in Turkey's dairy sector for February. While there was a 2 percent decrease in the amount of cow milk collected by commercial dairy enterprises, totaling 897 thousand 379 tons, and a significant 13.2 percent drop in drinking milk production, other dairy products experienced growth compared to the same month last year. Notably, cow cheese production increased by 10.6 percent, buttermilk by 28.3 percent, yoghurt by 16.6 percent, and butter by 20.1 percent. These figures highlight the varying trends within the dairy industry, with most dairy products seeing an increase in production despite the decline in drinking milk.
