The Stavropol Territory in Russia has seen a 10% increase in its walnut crop area over the past five years, now covering around 600 hectares. This expansion, which includes both industrial and personal subsidiary plots, is supported by the region's government and is part of the state program 'Development of Agriculture'. The region's farmers are also receiving compensation for a portion of the costs involved in laying and maintaining the walnut orchards. In 2021, the gardening sector has received a budget allocation of 580 million rubles from both federal and regional sources.
