The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has forecasted a reduction in the area of sunflower cultivation by Turkish farmers from 750 thsd ha in 2023/24 MY to 690 thsd ha in 2024/25 MY due to decreased profitability. Despite this, the USDA anticipates an increase in the harvest from 1.55 mln tonnes to 1.675 mln tonnes, attributed to improved yields following a drought in the previous year.
