The CIC increases again its global cereal production forecasts for 2025/26

In its October report, the International Grains Council (IGC) has once again revised upwards its forecast for global grain production for the current 2025/26 season, now placing it at 2,425 million tons. The increase is due, also this month, to the upward revision of the estimate for the global wheat harvest (which would reach 827 million tons) and barley (151.6 million), while the maize forecast remains unchanged (1,297 million tons). The organization has also revised upwards the consumption forecast compared to September, albeit to a lesser extent, which now predicts an increase in the final stock of the season, which could reach 618 million tons.
