The export of cheese from the Region of Murcia has grown by 9.4 percent during the first 7 months of 2025, compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching a production of 1,120 tons, according to the Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries, Sara Rubira, during a visit to the facilities of the cooperative ‘Coagacart’ in Pozo Estrecho (Cartagena). The visit, which was also attended by the mayor of Cartagena Noelia Arroyo, is part of municipal and regional actions to promote the local product, which the City Council considers a differentiating element of Cartagena's gastronomy. The cooperative has been teaching students from schools how to make cheese for years, a task they perform in a dedicated room so they can do it themselves, in addition to showing them the care of the animals through a visit to the farm.
