The Jeonnam Headquarters of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (Headed by Lee Kwang-il) held a volunteer event for harvesting Dabong persimmons in Geumjeong, Yeongam, on the 14th, with around 200 people in attendance, including Head Lee Kwang-il, Yeongam Branch Manager Jeong Hyeon-jeong, Geumjeong Agricultural Cooperative Chairman Choi Young-taek, Vice President Jang Mi-young of Chonnam National University, and 150 nursing students. The volunteers were divided into four villages within the Geumjeong Agricultural Cooperative area to assist farms with a shortage of farming labor in the Dabong persimmon harvest. Additionally, all participants empathized with the "Nongsimcheonsim Movement," a new initiative by the Agricultural Cooperative aimed at enhancing the value of agriculture and rural areas for the general public, and supported the expansion of farming labor supply as one of the strategies to increase agricultural value.
