Turkey, a leading producer of olives and olive oil, aims to surpass Spain to become the world's top olive cultivator. Last season, the country produced 407 thousand tons of olive oil and 938 thousand tons of table olives. Olive production is widespread across Turkey, with significant contributions from cities like Tekirdağ, Uşak, Eskişehir, Isparta, Karaman, Adıyaman, and Kahramanmaraş. The country has 100 registered olive varieties, and new ones are being developed through hybridization and selection studies. Turkish olives and olive oil have gained international recognition for their quality, with several brands winning global awards.
