In Ukraine, export demand and prices for wheat are rising due to low supply, while global quotations have again turned to a decline. According to Bloomberg, the Egyptian state agency Mostakbal Misr, responsible for grain imports, has contracted for about 500,000 tons of wheat from the Black Sea region for delivery in December and January. Of these, 200,000 tons of wheat will be supplied from Russia, 150,000 tons from Bulgaria, and more than 130,000 tons from Ukraine. In addition, the agency is negotiating the purchase of about 500,000 tons of grain from various countries, and an agreement is expected to be reached in early December. Against the backdrop of low supply, traders continued to raise purchase prices in Ukraine, and over the week, export prices for wheat demand rose by 50-100 UAH/ton to 10,550–10,700 UAH/ton for food wheat and 9,900–10,100 UAH/ton for feed wheat, but currency prices remained at levels of 218-223 $/ton and 207-209 $/ton, respectively.
