Jeonnam Agricultural Technology Institute (Director Kim Haeng-ran) announced on the 14th that they have produced and distributed 300 copies of a manual on how to use honeybees and bumblebees, which are flower-pollinating insects, to help ensure stable fruiting of citrus fruits. This manual, designed as a leaflet-style handbook for easy use by farmers, includes information on the types and ecology of flower-pollinating insects, usage methods, and application examples in farms. Jeonnam Agricultural Technology Institute expects that this material will help resolve the instability in citrus fruit fertilization caused by climate change and contribute to improving quality and stabilizing production. Recently, due to abnormal high temperatures in spring, insect activity has decreased during the citrus fruit flowering period, making it difficult to ensure stable pollination with natural pollination alone.
