The fishing sector in Argentina has seen a recovery, with an increase in employment by 8.4% between June 2020 and June 2021, reaching 14,200 workers. This recovery is attributed to factors such as good squid landings, high international shrimp prices, and government measures to value land work. The sector has also experienced a increase in exports of key species like shrimp, hubbsi hake, and squid from January to August of this year compared to the same period in 2020. Additionally, the Undersecretariat of Fisheries has implemented regulations and tools to enhance land work, which have been valued by industry leaders.
