(Daejeon=Yonhap News) Reporter Park Joo-young = The Korea Forest Service announced on the 22nd that it will increase the supply of chestnuts and jujubes, which are popular forest products for the Chuseok holiday, to ensure a smooth supply.
To stabilize prices and control supply and demand, the agency will check the price trends and supply situation of forest products daily, and plans to increase the supply of chestnuts by four times and jujubes by eighteen times two weeks before Chuseok.
Until the 15th of next month, various online and offline consumer promotion events will be held.
Through the Green Market (sanrim.com), the forest product shopping mall of the Central Council of Forest Cooperatives, discount events with 10-30% off will be held, and on Naver Store and Post Office Shopping Mall, among others, brand sections for forest products, including those with geographical indication registrations, will open with 10-30% off.
In nine regional forest cooperatives where forest product sales sites are set up, discount events of up to 40% will be promoted, and in Daejeon, a direct trade market for forest products will open, selling Chuseok seasonal products such as chestnuts, jujubes, balloon flowers, and ferns at a 30% discount.
