In 2023, Russian agricultural exports, particularly grain legumes, saw a significant increase, doubling in value from the previous year to $43.5 billion. This growth was largely due to the opening of the Chinese market and the Rostov region's dominance in exports. The Rostov region also led in the export of peas, becoming the world leader, with China, Turkey, Bangladesh, and Pakistan as major importers. The Krasnodar Territory saw a more diversified export structure, including leguminous crops and sugar products. The Uspensky Sugar Plant in the Krasnodar Territory, owned by the Prodimex group, also contributed to the growth in sugar exports.
