China is the world's leading producer of blueberries, dedicating over 77,000 hectares of land to the crop and producing 525,310 tons in 2022. The Yunnan province, known for its ability to produce blueberries from November to June/July, plays a significant role in this production. However, the country faces challenges with licensing for many of the blueberry varieties grown. Despite the high production levels, the per capita consumption of blueberries in China remains low at 0.26 kg.
