Sugarcane farmers in Tra Vinh and Soc Trang provinces in Vietnam are seeing increased profits due to high sugarcane prices and support from local sugar companies. Despite rising costs for machinery, fuel, and labor, lower fertilizer prices and high selling prices for sugarcane have led to significant profits. The Tra Vinh and Soc Trang Sugar Companies are providing financial support, including interest-free loans for seeds and labor costs, and offering price insurance. They are also committing to purchase the farmers' sugarcane at a minimum price, provided the farmers sign an investment contract. This support is encouraging farmers to increase sugarcane cultivation, with a goal of expanding the sugarcane raw material area to about 3,000 hectares.
