The Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation of Egypt, Alaa Farouk, has discussed with Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Habib, the Executive Director of the International Dates Council, the possibility of enhancing cooperation and maximizing the benefit of Egypt's palm trees and dates. The meeting focused on the potential for establishing a commodity exchange for dates, holding international date exhibitions, and granting certificates to distinguished farms. Other discussions included combating the palm weevil, recycling palm waste, and applying modern technologies in tissue culture and environmentally and climatically compatible cultivar maps. The meeting was attended by key officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and the International Dates Council.
