Ukrainian breeders at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine's Institute of Potato Growing are developing new potato varieties for early, medium-ripening, and processing purposes. They have introduced new varieties like 'Soborna' and 'Fotinia', which have received positive reception for their quality and yield. The 'Myroslava' variety is also popular due to its high productivity and great taste. The 'Schedryk' variety, developed for biological cultivation, has increased chacoine and solanine content, making it resistant to the Colorado beetle but with a drawback of deep eyes. These Ukrainian potato varieties are noted for their adaptation to climatic changes.
