The Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Parliament supported the agreement to simplify the requirements of the EU's Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). The preliminary agreement reached by Parliament negotiators, led by André Rodrigues (Portugal), and the Danish Presidency of the Council this month, aims to alleviate some of the administrative and regulatory burden on farmers during the current programming period of the Common Agricultural Policy.
