552 queen bees, along with 5 nurses each, have been exported from a property in Los Muermos, Chile, to Toronto, Canada. The export was verified for the absence of diseases by the SAG. This new business opportunity highlights the genetic quality and climate adaptation of bees from southern Chile. The bees are of the meat breed, known for their tameness, high productivity, and adaptation to low temperatures. A new shipment is planned for the same market at the end of the month, and the beekeeper also plans to seek potential new clients in Toronto and Winnipeg in June.
