In 2023, the number of dairy farms in Argentina remained stable despite the dairy sector crisis, with a slight increase in the stock of cows. However, milk production decreased by 2% from the previous year, even though it was produced from more dairy farms. The average herd per farm was 156 cows, producing 3,043 liters daily. There was a shift towards the domestic market, resulting in a decline in exports. The OCLA anticipates a further decline in dairy productivity in 2024.
