[Livestock and Fisheries Newspaper=Reporter Kim Sinji] According to the results of the "Livestock Trend Survey for the 2nd and 4th Quarters of 2025" released by Statistics Korea on the 25th of last month, the number of livestock raised in the second quarter was found to have increased for ducks compared to the same period last year, while the numbers for Hanwoo, beef cattle, dairy cows, and broilers decreased. The number of ducks raised was 10,443,000, an increase of 908,000 from 9,535,000 last year, showing a 9.5% rise. This is due to a 10.2% increase in the number of meat ducks raised, which rose by 562,000 to 5,620,000, as a result of the increase in laying hens that have been in production for six months or more compared to the same period last year. In contrast, the number of Hanwoo and beef cattle raised was 3,405,000.
