Avocado exports from Peru reached USD 953 million between January and September of this year, a 9% increase compared to the same period in 2022. The weather conditions negatively affected the harvest in August, resulting in a 6.9% decrease in production compared to the previous year. The Netherlands was the top destination for Peruvian avocados, followed by Spain, the US, Chile, and the United Kingdom. Additionally, there were significant increases in exports to Uruguay, Morocco, and Italy.
