A drone attack has caused damage to the oilseed processing plant of the Ukrainian agricultural holding 'Kernel' in the Khmelnytskyi region. The attack, part of wider drone attacks by the Russian army, did not result in any injuries but has halted plant operations and caused fire. The plant, Kernel's largest in the west of the country, is currently undergoing damage assessment. The incident marks the first drone attack on Kernel's facilities in western Ukraine, following the launch of the Starokostyantyniv Oil Extraction Plant in mid-April 2024. This attack occurs amidst concerns over the increase of gray companies in the Ukrainian grain market, reaching 50%.
